Firstly I would like to recognise the traditional owners of the lands where my images are taken. I recognise and celebrate the diversity of Indigenous people and their enduring cultures and connections to the land and waters I love and photograph.

I am a photographer based in South Australia and our wild places are everything to me.  I love adventuring and exploring throughout South Australia and I want my images to inspire, raise awareness and an appreciation of these places and a I want to conserve them while we can. Importantly I see my camera as a tool to explore the theme of environmental conservation - every image has a story.

Personally, photography provides an infinite range of emotional and artistic discovery which for me never seems to diminish. It is a kind of escapism – a slowing-down and a concentration of finer instincts. It’s a heightened state, addictive and nourishing, and it keeps me coming back for more. I believe in treading lightly and preserving the environments that form the focus of my work. The forest, beach and these delicate places: these things, and not our individual assets, are the treasures we ultimately pass on.

Beyond the inspiration when in wild places, my photography is subtly influenced by years of work experience in environmental, printing and graphic arts fields.

Please take the time to enjoy and immerse yourself in my work.

I would love to hear from you with any enquiries or questions.

Thanks
Darren
